The Great Pivot: Growing Your Business Amidst an Evolving Regulatory Landscape

Presented by Angela Booker, President & Founder, ISFAC, LLC

Angela Booker is a certified Contract Compliance Administrator and the President and Founder of ISFAC, LLC, a full-service Contract Compliance company dedicated to serving U.S. Department of Transportation grant recipients. With over 35 years of extensive experience in the aviation industry, Angela has been pivotal in developing and implementing Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) programs for airports and other DOT Transportation-related agencies since the 1990s.

Angela’s work has been instrumental in increasing ACDBE participation through innovative strategies, including the establishment of Power Universities specifically designed for small businesses, ensuring a level playing field for competition among small businesses. In 2024 Angela was nominated as AMAC Advocate of the Year. She has served as a Contract Compliance Officer and Equal Opportunity Specialist at several airports, most notably the $500M ACDBE program at Phoenix Sky Harbor, which was recognized as the top airport for newly certified small businesses in 2014 by the Office of Inspector General.

Additionally, Angela’s expertise extends to her previous role as Account Director for the nation’s largest diversity software company and as Executive Director of the East Tennessee Minority Purchasing Council, where she fostered economic opportunities for minority firms by collaborating with various agencies, including DOTs and airports.

A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Angela also has a commendable service record with the US Army. She is actively engaged in her community, serving on multiple boards, and is a proud grandmother of four wonderful grandsons.

Judges

Each Runway to Success Competition will feature a judging panel composed of industry executives and business owners with expertise across the airport, aviation and transportation sectors, including operations, procurement and supplier management.

The final pitch competition, held at the AMAC Airport Business Conference, will feature a VIP panel of leaders from the largest airport food and retail operators in North America who possess the authority to extend a business offer.

Suppliers

Supplier applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Suppliers of Goods and Services Positioned to Support Growth, Innovation or Customer Experience in the Aviation Industry

  • Suppliers Offering Strategic, Innovative or Scalable Solutions

  • Must Be Registered as a Legal Business Entity and in Good Standing

  • At Least 51% Minority- or Woman-Owned

  • Able to Clearly Articulate the Value of Their Product or Service in a Short Pitch Format

  • Must Be Available to Attend the Live Pitch Event

  • Must Not Currently Have or Be In the Process of Establishing an Agreement With Any Operators or Airport Concessionaires

HOSTS

AMAC is accepting applications from partners to host one of the eight (8) first-round Runway to Success Supplier Pitch Competitions.

Hosting a first-round competition is critical to the overall Runway to Success Supplier Competition. Each host site serves as a gateway for local and regional entrepreneurs, small businesses and ACDBEs to access AMAC’s national platform and connect to contracting and partnership opportunities.
