Session: Sustainable Culture Change for a More Diverse and Inclusive Aviation Industry
Tuesday, March 5, 2:45 pm–4:00 pm

This session will provide an overview of moving the aviation industry forward. Industry leaders are looking for ways to attract and retain a more diverse, younger workforce with a focus on underrepresented groups. For diverse and underrepresented future leaders to see themselves in the industry, we, as current practitioners, need to develop and foster an environment that supports inclusivity. Airports, consulting firms, and contractors have developed some successful strategies and methodologies to create the change we want to see within the culture that will foster a more diverse and inclusive workforce to meet the needs of our changing world.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Implement successful strategies and methodologies to create change
  • Have active tools to foster a more diverse and inclusive workforce including two-way intentional mentoring and fostering economic and professional growth
  • Understanding lessons learned, challenges, and awareness of what the challenges with -isms (ableism, classism, etc.) are
  • Identify the benefits and constraints of affirmative action and ideas of improvements

The event is finished.
