Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Aviation Business Summit

The City of Phoenix Aviation Department will host a virtual Aviation Business Summit on March 16, 2023. The virtual event is designed to give interested businesses the opportunity to learn, network, and understand the tools available for doing business with Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports.

Some topics covered at this year’s event will include information on our procurement process and fulfilling contract commitments, a review of the different certification programs, highlights of sustainability initiatives at our airports, and presentations by some of our divisions. The event will also have opportunities to network and interact virtually with City staff, community partners and business partners through virtual exhibitor booths.

Sessions

Living Sustainable
This panel discussion will cover programs, initiatives, and successes demonstrating how the Aviation Department strives to incorporate sustainability into everything we do.

Runway to PHX Procurement Processes
In this session, we will take off from the PHX runway to get a birds-eye view of the Aviation Department’s procurement processes. Providing you with insights on how to become an Aviation business partner.

Fulfilling Contract Commitments
This session will discuss Contractor expectations during their contract term and how to establish and maintain a successful partnership to remain in good standing with PHX from contract start to closeout.

Should I Get Certified?
This workshop will provide an overview of the City’s small business certification programs and how concession contracts are monitored at PHX.

Let’s Talk Concessions
This panel features airport concessionaires as they discuss their journey of building their business at the airport, working with small businesses, and navigating the city process.

All Things Design & Construction
Tune in to hear from our Design and Construction division, learn what they do, and what opportunities are on the horizon. Also, learn the ins and outs of identifying opportunities and submitting for Design and Construction jobs.

Judges

Each Runway to Success Competition will feature a judging panel composed of industry executives and business owners with expertise across the airport, aviation and transportation sectors, including operations, procurement and supplier management.

The final pitch competition, held at the AMAC Airport Business Conference, will feature a VIP panel of leaders from the largest airport food and retail operators in North America who possess the authority to extend a business offer.

Suppliers

Supplier applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Suppliers of Goods and Services Positioned to Support Growth, Innovation or Customer Experience in the Aviation Industry

  • Suppliers Offering Strategic, Innovative or Scalable Solutions

  • Must Be Registered as a Legal Business Entity and in Good Standing

  • At Least 51% Minority- or Woman-Owned

  • Able to Clearly Articulate the Value of Their Product or Service in a Short Pitch Format

  • Must Be Available to Attend the Live Pitch Event

  • Must Not Currently Have or Be In the Process of Establishing an Agreement With Any Operators or Airport Concessionaires

HOSTS

AMAC is accepting applications from partners to host one of the eight (8) first-round Runway to Success Supplier Pitch Competitions.

Hosting a first-round competition is critical to the overall Runway to Success Supplier Competition. Each host site serves as a gateway for local and regional entrepreneurs, small businesses and ACDBEs to access AMAC’s national platform and connect to contracting and partnership opportunities.
