AMAC Denver Chapter Sells Out 3rd Annual Aviation Summit

The AMAC Denver Chapter’s 3rd Annual Aviation Summit, “The Growth Playbook: Win Local. Scale Smart. Expand Beyond,” was a tremendous success—selling out twice and welcoming 300 aviation professionals from across the region. The energy throughout the day reflected the Summit’s continued growth and its impact as a premier convening for aviation leaders, entrepreneurs and industry partners.

The program opened with welcome remarks from Tia Perry, AMAC VP of Strategic Partnerships and Jeannie Killebrew, AMAC Northwest Regional Director, followed by special opening remarks from Councilwoman Alvidrez, who highlighted the importance of economic opportunity, partnership and inclusive growth within Denver’s thriving aviation ecosystem. Attendees then heard an inspiring keynote from Phil Washington, CEO of Denver International Airport (DEN), who shared powerful insights on leadership, infrastructure expansion and the strategic vision guiding DEN’s continued growth. His message reinforced the importance of positioning local businesses to compete, scale and expand in an evolving aviation landscape.

The main stage industry panel, “Scaling Denver International Airport: How to Succeed Doing Business at DEN,” featured DEN senior leadership and offered valuable insight into upcoming opportunities and strategic priorities. Moderated by AMAC Denver Chapter President Jeannie Killebrew, the conversation included Pamela Dechant, SVP Concessions; Brandon Gainey, SVP Design, Engineering and Construction; and Shawn Smith, SVP Culture and Strategy. Panelists shared candid perspectives on navigating procurement, strengthening partnerships and aligning with DEN’s long-term vision.

Attendees then participated in two dynamic breakout sessions tailored to key sectors. The Concessions and ACDBE panel, moderated by Alea LaRocque, AMAC Denver Chapter VP of Membership, featured Tegan Alexander Kissane, Interim SVP Business Operations – DEN; Nikki T. Harland of Concessions International; and Elena Martinez of E Hijole Tacos (BDTA Concessions Graduate). The discussion provided practical strategies for certification, partnership development and scaling within airport concessions.

Simultaneously, the AEC-focused breakout, “Let’s Take This Show on the Road! Strategies for Expanding Beyond Your Home Market,” moderated by Christine Rajpal, AMAC Denver Chapter VP of Aviation, brought together Cedrick Johnson, PE, ADCI; Hezekiah Harris, CMTS; Matahji Ameen-Hernandez, DEN; and Jake Gilmore, Gilmore Construction. Panelists explored how firms can leverage local success to expand regionally and nationally, emphasizing preparation, relationships and strategic growth.

The Summit concluded with structured networking and a vibrant reception, giving attendees the opportunity to build meaningful connections, strengthen partnerships and continue the conversations sparked throughout the day. With record attendance and strong engagement, this year’s 3rd Annual Aviation Summit reaffirmed AMAC Denver Chapter’s commitment to equipping businesses with the tools, access and insights needed to win local, scale smart and expand beyond.
