$50,000 Scholarship Fund to Be Distributed Over Five Years
Nashville, TN (August 6, 2024) – Delaware North, a global leader in hospitality and entertainment, today announced the creation of the Delaware North Aviation Scholarship Fund (DNASF) in collaboration with the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Foundation. This $50,000 scholarship fund will be distributed over the next five years, providing $10,000 annually through 2028 to deserving scholarship recipients.
The DNASF was unveiled at the AMAC Foundation Celebrating Women in Aviation Breakfast & Scholarship Awards during the 39th Annual AMAC Airport Business Diversity Conference at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville.
The fund aims to support minority students pursuing careers in aviation-related fields, such as engineering, architecture, construction, business management, supply chain management, economics, accounting, communications, computer science, finance and other related disciplines at accredited universities. The exact amount of each scholarship will be determined jointly by the AMAC Foundation and Delaware North.
Eligible candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to their community, actively mentor or tutor the next generation and contribute to diversity and inclusion in their respective environments.
“Delaware North is incredibly proud and excited to launch the Delaware North Aviation Scholarship Fund in collaboration with the AMAC Foundation,” said Sunshine White, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships for Delaware North’s Travel division and Board Chair of the AMAC Foundation. “This initiative is close to our hearts, reflecting our deep commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within the aviation industry. We are thrilled to support and empower the next generation of aviation professionals through this meaningful scholarship fund, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the lives of deserving students.”
