About the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO)

The SDO’s mission is to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in state contracting for businesses owned by minorities, women, Portuguese, veterans, service-disabled veterans, those with a disability, and LGBT individuals, as well as small Massachusetts businesses. The SDO certifies these businesses and manages several programs that help them enhance their marketability when bidding on public contracts.

About the Massachusetts Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), established in 1969, is an agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce. It is the only federal agency tasked with promoting the competitiveness of minority businesses. The Massachusetts MBDA Business Center, operated by the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC), is part of its national network of business centers. The Center leverages GNEMSDC and the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC) corporate member relationships to assist our client partners. Like GNEMSDC, the Massachusetts MBDA Business Center focuses on the six New England states; however, the Center does not have a geographic limitation for clients, its services, sourcing resources, or contracting opportunities.

About the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC)

The Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC), an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), is a nearly-50-year-old nonprofit agency of local and national major corporations dedicated to the economic advancement and development of minority business enterprises (MBE). The GNEMSDC provides access to capital, capacity-building information and assistance, and MBE certification for minority business owners in the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Through GNEMSDC programs, business owners can access networking events, scholarship funds, and contracting opportunities in the public and private sectors.
