Informal Airspace Meeting – Modification of Class C Airspace in San Juan, Puerto Rico
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will hold a virtual Informal Airspace Meeting (IAM) via Zoom regarding a plan to modify the TJSJ Class C Airspace. Modifying the Class C airspace includes giving a portion of it to Isla Grande, PR (TJIG) to become part of their Class D surface area. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit aeronautical comments on the proposal’s effect on local aviation operations.
The public is invited to participate in a virtual meeting to learn more about a proposal to modify the controlled airspace around Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FAA proposal expands the area where pilots interact with FAA air traffic controllers but will not change existing flight paths. The airspace change will improve the FAA’s ability to manage the complexity and volume of aviation activities in the area.
